In September 2011 at the IFA exhibition in Berlin the world-famous company Toshiba officially announced the launch of a new model of ultrabooks – Portege Z830 Series. This is the first ultrabook based on the second-generation Intel Core processor released by the company.

External parameters of the model meet all the requirements for the ultrabooks.  Remember that they are: lightness, portability and elegance. Portege Z830 Series weighs only 1.1 kg and has thickness of 16 millimeters. This makes “the beginner” the lightest and thinnest model on the market today.

We proceed to the technical specifications. For the purpose of maximum strength the body of the model is made of magnesium alloy and has a “honeycomb” structure. The display is 13.3 inches with a resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels.

The keyboard is resistant to moisture and is equipped with backlighting. In addition, the novelty has 6 GB of RAM (DDR3 standard), as well as a solid state drive with capacity of 128 GB. On board of this device there is a 1.3-megapixel webcam, Ethernet network interface, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n wireless module, SD slot, D-Sub and HDMI video outputs, USB 3.0 port. Battery capacity of 47 Wh provides 8 hours of work, which is a very good performance for such devices.

Another good news – an improved sound chip that makes it possible to enjoy good sound. The suggested retail price of the new ultrabook is close to 1,000 dollars.
